Academic Achievements

My educational journey, beginning at New York University and culminating with a dual master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, has been the cornerstone of my counseling practice. Here, I invite you to explore the academic experiences that have shaped my expertise in mental health counseling.

Education

My academic foundation was laid at New York University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology, complemented by a minor in Japanese, achieving a GPA of 3.7/4.0. This diverse educational background provided me with a broad understanding of psychological principles and introduced me to the intricate ways culture impacts mental health.

Continuing my commitment to excellence, I obtained my Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) in Counseling and Mental Health Services from the esteemed University of Pennsylvania, graduating with an impressive GPA of 3.97/4.0. Currently, I am furthering my expertise at the same institution by pursuing a Master of Philosophy in Education (M.Phil.Ed.) in Professional Counseling, where I am on track to graduate with a GPA of 4.0/4.0 in May 2024.

Experience and Research

Parallel to my studies, I've garnered substantial clinical experience. My tenure as a Counseling Intern at The Light Program provided me with the opportunity to facilitate group therapy and apply a range of therapeutic modalities to complex mental health conditions, enhancing my practical counseling skills.

During my time as a School Counselor Intern at the General George A. McCall School, I've been responsible for crafting and implementing individualized education plans and conducting group counseling sessions, further reinforcing my theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice.

In the realm of research, I contributed as a Research Assistant at Harvard University's Mindfulness Lab, focusing on cognitive flexibility and children's academic performance, and at the Eyes@Home Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi Campus, analyzing intergenerational relationships. These research opportunities have not only broadened my academic horizons but also enriched my understanding of effective counseling strategies.

I am proud to be eligible for the Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) license, which adds formal recognition to my counseling capabilities. My linguistic skills in Mandarin, English, and Japanese provide me with a nuanced approach to communication in a multicultural counseling context. The specialized training I've received, particularly in recognizing and reporting child abuse, demonstrates my preparedness to uphold the ethical standards of the counseling profession.
